Junior Grand Prix at Rogue Racing - 2007

Geri - first time on the podium

1st September:
Now just 10 weeks after Geri first sat in a kart (and of course 10 weeks since Geri's 8th birthday), it was time for round 2 of the 2007 Junior Grand Prix

Once again, the format was to be 5 heats per drivers, 5 drivers in each heat with the top ten drivers racing over 2 semi-finals, then the top five battling for the final. Again, just 9 entrants for this meeting meant all drivers were guaranteed a semi-final place.

Geri improved his score in the heats to 32 points in this round, two above par and once again won his heat from pole. Once again this was good enough for 4th place after the heats and Geri again started semi-final 2 on the outside of the front row. Having learned from last month, Geri was able to maintain his position at the start and finish the semi-final in second place thus qualifying for the final.

A great start from Geri from 4th on the grid saw him take 3rd place at the first corner, a position he maintained to the end of the race giving Geri 3rd overall and his first podium position.

James Baldwin again won the event from Jack Macaulay with Guy Grigsby beaten into 4th by Geri. Geri's fastest lap in this event was 27.32 seconds.
