Geri - looking forwards to 2013

Welcome to Geri Nicosia, junior racing driver!

Geri has won the 2008 and 2009 Junior Grand Prix series at Rogue Racing in Aylesbury, but circumstances beyond Geri's control meant that despite getting in a few races at Rye House and Whilton Mill back in 2008, he did not race outdoors at all in 2009, and just twice in 2010, twice more in 2011.

We had planned to move up to Mini Max karts in 2012 but just as we were about to order a kart and engines, Geri broke his arm playing football! We used the recovery period to rethink, and abandoned the karting world with a plan to move into cars for 2013. We started lessons with Young Driver so Geri could learn the basics of driving, before arranging a couple of airfield track sessions through Motorsport Events in our road car Abarth 500SS to build up some speed.

And then finally onto Brands Hatch on April 1st where Geri passed his ARDS test in the MSVR Peugeot RCZ. We now await his 14th birthday in June before he can start racing in the Ford Fiesta Junior championship. It is a long term view, he will be eligible for a further 3 full seasons with the Fiesta Junior series after this season, so we plan to use 2013 to acclimatise with the Nyssa Racing built Ford Fiesta ST race car.
